After a long tiring day, I was going from one errand to the next when I least expected it. Amongst the rainy clouds in the San Francisco sky shined the new crescent moon.
I just stood there staring at the sky. I couldn’t remember the last time I saw Ramadan’s new moon. And having that unexpected moment made my day!
Blessed Ramadan! Or as we say, Ramadan Mubarak! May your Ramadan be filled with light, love, and peace, amen.

What is summer to you? Summer to me is sand at my feet, waves crashing, a light breeze and a warm sun between a few clouds. Summer to me is my nephew’s glee when we bonded at the beach just him and I, chasing waves, picking up shells and laughing our hearts out for no apparent reason.
