What is a procurement consultant?
A procurement consultant is an expert who provides professional advice, identifies procurement operational weaknesses, and implements strategic sourcing solutions to help your team or company improve overall performance.
Why do I need a procurement consultant instead of handling this internally?
Not all professionals are experts in procurement and negotiations, especially when it comes to an evolving space like IT. Consultants bring an unbiased, outside perspective and specialized industry knowledge to help accelerate your goals without distracting you or your team.
Do you work with individuals, businesses, or both?
Both. The procurement and business consultation services are designed for teams and organizations of any size. Negotiation coaching supports both individuals and teams navigating complex negotiation scenarios.
What does a typical project cycle entail?
As procurement projects vary by team and complexity, the cycle usually involves the following phases:
– Analysis
– Strategy Development
– Project Management
– Contract Negotiation
– Award and Execution
– Post Execution Review
What does a typical procurement process and contract audit entail?
While every team’s process is different, the audit phases usually involves discovery of that process, identifying any weak points, and developing the best process. Support for process implementation and change management is also available.
What is a negotiation coach?
A negotiation coach is an expert that provides one-on-one support, scenario based strategy, and preparation tools that you can use in real situations. This usually includes preparation for a performance review, a salary discussion, a job interview, or a major buys such as a car or home. Coaching is also available for those just starting out in procurement or facing a particularly nuanced negotiation scenario.
What’s the difference between procurement consultation, business consultation, and negotiation coaching?
– Procurement consultation addresses your team or organization’s broader sourcing and procurement processes, from supplier evaluation to contract negotiation.
– Business consultation covers wider strategic and operational needs beyond procurement, such as process improvement and organizational planning.
– Negotiation coaching focuses on preparing you for a specific upcoming negotiation, with strategy and practice tailored to that scenario.
If you’re unsure which fits your situation best, we can discuss it during your complimentary call.
Do you offer sessions virtually, in-person, or both?
Most sessions are offered virtually for flexibility and efficiently. However, in-person sessions are available upon request, depending on location, schedule, and project scope.
Is my information kept confidential?
Yes! All information shared during consultations, audits, or negotiations is treated as confidential. All contracts include confidential terms but a separate non-disclosure agreement (NDA) is available upon request.
What are your consulting rates?
Rates vary based on each individual’s or team’s needs and project complexity. A contract must be signed beforehand, with agreed upon payment terms before work begins. Standard rates breakdown are as follows:
– Procurement Consultation: $150/hour, up to 10 hours per month, with additional hours billed at $175/hour.
