I was blessed to have spent part of my birthday week in the homes of my favorite 20th century artist, Frida Kahlo.
Both the Blue House (Frida Kahlo Museum) and Red House (Kahlo Family Museum) in Coyoacàn were more than I had expected. Seeing her first drafts, processes, collections, photographs, studio, and the beds she spent so much of her time in were an interesting window into her life.
I left both emotional and inspired, reflecting on the past year and what’s to come ahead. Here’s to living a full life, or as Frida’s last painting is titled, “Viva la Vida!”
In The Homes of Frida Kahlo

The Frida Kahlo street mural found between her two homes, the Blue House and the Red House, now turned into beautiful museums in her home town of Coyoacàn, Mexico City, Mexico.
